Collin's birthday and Labor Day

We went out to Jon's and Melissa's for Collin's birthday and to have a Labor Day cook-out. Cornhole and volley ball was the entertainment for the evening. Ellen made a "farm" cake for Collin.

Yard work

DeeLynn and Marissa stayed with us last night. After they left today, we got in a little yard work. Trying to get a head start on our fall clean up.

Good morning! Ellen is at work and Michael is eating his breakfast. My first chore of the day was to replace the wax ring on the stool in our bathroom. Thankfully the job is done and it only took one additional trip to the hardware store!

Circus

The grandkids are out of school this week so we went to see the circus that was performing at Washington. Michelle & Daniel and their kids went in their van with Michael while we had Jon & Melissa's 4 with us. Even though is was a smaller one-ring circus the kids had fun and enjoyed the show (and the cotton candy!).

Well, spring break is finally upon us. At school, I don't know who was looking forward to the break more- the students or the teachers!
Ellen is taking some time off too next week so we can enjoy some "down time". We don't have anything special planned, just doing some things around the house mostly. I want to get my workshop arranged a little more and have it ready for some projects I want to work on.
We've been taking advantage of the nice weather and warm temperatures and have been working in our flower beds. I am wanting to make some flower boxes for the porch and will probably have Michael help me on that.
Well, I've got some more to do on the website so I'll get off here for now.

First Picnic

Good morning everyone! We had our first wiener roast of the year yesterday. The temperature was in the low 70's, which isn't bad at all for the first part of March. We went to Michelle & Daniel's and ate out on their new patio.
Today it is still nice but it's supposed to rain later. I've done a little more to the website. I need to add a few more things and then I will declare it done for the time being.

New Look

Hi, everyone. If you've been over to the website lately you will have noticed that it is in the process of an extreme makeover! I haven't done much with it the past few months and it seems like both of us forget to get the camera out very often.
Hopefully we will start doing a little better. We have some photos of our big snow, DeeLynn's birthday and a few misc. tidbits.

No News Is Good News??

Hi, everyone. No, we haven't moved out of the country and yes, our computer is still working. BUT...If you have visited our web site recently you probably are wondering what we are doing. Well, pretty much the same old things but for some reason the camera doesn't get brought out as often. Even "Grandma" isn't snapping pictures like she used to.
So I'll give you a quick run down on what's going on and maybe we can do a little better on the pictures for the web site. Maybe...
Ellen and I are both working. She is still at the deli in JayC and I am working part time as a custodian for the school and part time as a proof reader for a print shop. Our schedules vary quite a bit from week to week but at least we don't get stuck in the same rut all the time.
I suppose the biggest news is that Ellen's folks bought a house here in Shoals just down the road from us. We have been spending our spare time down there painting, cleaning, etc. Ellen and Michelle will be going up to Kokomo on Thursday to help wrap up the packing and then everyone will help them move down here next Saturday.
Well, that is the news in a nutshell. We will try to get a few pictures on the web site soon.

Elnora Outing

They are having an antique tractor show and festival in Elnora this weekend so we decided to run up there for the day Friday. Michelle, DeeLynn, Aundrea, Melissa, Ellen and I all loaded up in our van for the trip. It turned out to be a real nice day for an outdoor activity. It was overcast but didn't rain and the temperatures were in the 70's.
There were lots of flea market booths, a grinding mill, apple cider press, LOTS of tractors, some animal exhibits and petting areas and a few other odds and ends. We didn't buy a lot but everyone had a good time.
